We’re back! Pre-season starts November 15

Pre-season training for new and returning players starts on Monday 15 November.

The UTS Australian Football Club’s 2022 campaign gets underway with the start of pre-season training at Bat and Ball Oval on Monday 15 November 2021.

Training sessions will continue every Monday for all players.

The Premier Men’s and U19 teams will also train on Thursdays throughout November and December, and Premier Women will train Tuesday nights. These three groups will also train weekends weekend training at the UTS Sport gym at Ultimo.

The first training session on 15 November will also include a whole-of-club welcome.

“It’s been a hard year on everyone in Sydney, so the chance to hit the park with our whole club on November 15 will be a really special moment,” says Bats football director Sam Chadwick

“And with stable leadership of our footy program with Kyle Emley leading our premier men’s and Miguel Limson heading up our premier women’s once again, we’re looking forward to a really positive summer on the track leading into our 2022 campaign.”

“We hope to see all our 2021 squad and newcomers to the club out at Bat and Ball Oval on November 15.”

COVID-19 Safety Requirements at Pre-season Training

The return to training is expected to coincide with the NSW Government’s deployment of the next stage of its Roadmap for easing COVID-19 restrictions.

NSW is currently expected to pass the 80% of population (16 and over) double-dose vaccination target by the end of October.

This would mean community sports will be permitted for fully vaccinated staff, spectators and participants with no distance limits in effect.

As a result of this, the UTS AFC will require:

  • All players, coaches, staff and spectators to check-in at training using supplied Service NSW QR Codes at the training venue.
  • A UTS Official to record evidence of player, coach and spectator vaccination certificates.
  • This can be done in advance by emailing a copy of your vaccination certificate to football@utsafc.com.au
  • Players can get their proof of vaccination to show at training using the Medicare mobile app.
