The Golden Sheaf partners with UTS Bats for 2022

The Golden Sheaf Hotel has joined the UTS Australian Football Club as a joint major partner and hotel partner for the 2022 AFL Sydney season.

The UTS Australian Football Club is pleased to confirm The Golden Sheaf will be the club’s new major partner and hotel partner for the 2022 AFL Sydney Season.

“We are thrilled to have one of our players’ favourite pubs on board as our new major partner joining UTS Sport for the 2022 season,” says new Bats President Adrian Sibbick.

“The Golden Sheaf will be our after-match event venue throughout the season and host marquee events in the upstairs Canopy Bar and Golden Bar.

“This is an exciting arrangement and keeps a prominent venue for the club near both Trumper Park and Waverley Oval.

“As the largest AFL senior club and only Premier Division club based in the Eastern Suburbs, we believe that The Golden Sheaf is a perfect venue to accommodate our large, diverse and engaged membership.”

The partnership will kick off immediately, with the 2021 end of season function to be held on Friday 26 November at 7.00pm.

This will be followed by the UTS Bats 2022 season launch in March 2022, ahead of the marquee Ladies Day event in autumn to be scheduled once the fixture is confirmed.

“The Bats are a strong and proud footy club with a long history in the Eastern Suburbs and we’re pumped to be their new hotel partner for 2022,” says The Golden Sheaf general manager Blake Hughes.

“Our crew look forward to welcoming the Bats after training on Thursday nights and after-match functions throughout the season, as well as the big Bats events throughout the year.”

Information about the new UTSAFC-The Golden Sheaf partnership

Where is The Golden Sheaf located?

The Golden Sheaf is located at 429 New South Head Road, Double Bay.

Why is The Golden Sheaf the Bats’ new major partner

Based on player feedback, the location of The Golden Sheaf which is in close proximity to a majority of our club members and our training and playing venues, and the willingness of the Solotel Group to provide exclusive space for the club after matches and for major functions to ensure privacy and access for all members, the Bats have reached an agreement with The Golden Sheaf to be our new hotel partner for the 2022 season.

The partnership also ensures that the club will remain financially sustainable. The Golden Sheaf will also provide Bats Member Cards and discounts to club members. As a Major Partner, The Golden Sheaf will appear on club apparel including club training apparel and Premier Division playing jumpers, match day signage and all digital properties, as well as being the key venue for club events throughout the year.

How can players support the club through this partnership?

Players will receive a pub card which records their purchases at The Golden Sheaf to use throughout the year. This spend goes towards the club hopefully achieving financial bonuses for total bar spend so please ensure that all bar spend is recorded / tracked. Until you receive your card, please ask the friendly staff at The Golden Sheaf to record your spend against the club.

Is The Golden Sheaf a suitable venue for Bats events?

The UTS AFC Committee have worked with The Golden Sheaf to create a partnership that meets the needs of the club and players. As a popular venue, The Golden Sheaf maintains patron safety with security monitoring, and an increased presence on Saturday nights when club after-match events will be held, including regular cleaning sweeps, female security guards, zero tolerance for anti-social behaviour, and prioritising patron safety and wellbeing.

What is the first Bats event to be held at The Golden Sheaf?

The End of Season function will be held in the Canopy and Golden Bar on Friday 26 November 2021 at 7:00pm. This will be a great opportunity for our members to support the club, The Golden Sheaf and get around each other as we look forward to a big 2022 season and celebrate our club’s players and achievements this year.

What other events will be held next year?

Our events team is planning events for the 2022 season. These will include the season launch as well as regular fixtures like Ladies’ Day.
