Dear UTS Bats Community,
It’s been a very challenging few weeks for everyone and we hope you’re holding up amid the current restrictions.
We hope that there’s a quick resolution to the current COVID-19 outbreak and we will continue to keep you updated on changes to training and games in conjunction with AFL NSW/ACT.
It’s important for all of us to play our role and do the right thing in line with the government health advice by keeping safe at home.
Under the current Public Health Order, undertaking exercise and outdoor recreation activities is a reasonable excuse to leave your home, and we support Bats keeping fit and healthy in-line with government advice.
From Friday 9 July 2021 restrictions for Greater Sydney that apply to outdoor exercise include:
– Exercise is limited to two people (excluding members of the same household).
– You can only exercise in your LGA or no further than 10km from your home.
– You cannot car-pool with people outside your household, including to exercise.
– Anyone over 18 must carry documentary evidence showing your address and show it to police on request, including when exercising.
Further up-to-date advice and restrictions relating to outdoor activity are available on the NSW Office for Sport website here.
We should all be proud of the efforts that the footy club has achieved on and off the field this year and can’t wait to get back to it.
While we don’t have certainty, we do expect to be back to playing games soon – so keep as fit as you can during these restrictions!
Until then, take care of yourselves, mates and family and we’ll see you back on the paddock soon!
