Season 2011 Wrap Up Stats:

  • Brendan Browne played the most games at the Bats in 2011, finishing with 19 games in his first AFL season (9 in Div 1 + 10 in Div 3).
  • Jarrod Palpratt kicked the most goals at the Bats in 2011, finishing with 31 goals (24 in Div 3 + 7 in Div 4).
    3 players reached 100 games this season, with 9 players reaching 50 games.
  • Round 1 2012 (if they play) will see Nick Allardice play 100 games; Gerbil, Ferg Purcell & Ryan O’Grady all play their 50th.
  • Luke Bell, Paddy Byrne, AC, Crema, Bull Healey, Toby Irish, Lazarus, Ferg McManus, Seb McCallum, Ed Scholl & Lach Williams all represented 3 grades in their first season.
  • First time in a while that no player had played in all grades over a season. Maybe testament to selecting players in the right team?

  • Andrew Davis greatest goals per game (of those who played 3 or more games) with 2.33, David Lavender next with 1.86
  • Greatest winning margin was 28 points v Western Subs in Rd 19 (after losing by 11pts in Rd 12).
  • Greatest losing margin was 157 points v Syd Uni in Rd 13 (after losing by 85pts in Rd 6).
  • 7 games decided by less than 4 goals (won 2/lost 5).
  • Key players who played 9 games or less: Turner (9), Lavender (7); Curtis (5); Dane Williams (4); Jardine (4); Wallace (2).

Division 1

  • 71 players pulled on the Bats Guernsey in Division 1.
  • 46 individual goal kickers over the season.
  • Tom Nixon greatest goals per game with 2.4, Ant Rosen next on 2.2
  • Greatest winning margin was 58 points v UNSW in Rd 1 (a team they would lose to by 3pts in Rd 7).
  • Greatest losing margin was 90 points v Mac Uni in Rd 2 (a team they would beat by 36pts in Rd 11, only to lose the QF by 73pts).
  • 6 games were decided by less than 10 points (won 3/lost 3).

Division 3

  • 86 players pulled on the Bats Guernsey in Division 3.
  • 52 individual goal kickers.
  • Jarrod Palpratt greatest goals per game with 2.67, George Capozzi next on 2.64
  • Greatest winning margin was 155 points v North Shore in Rd 13 (only time they played in 2011).
  • Greatest losing margin was 111 points v UNSW in Rd 15 (after losing by 35pts in Rd 1).
  • Won 8 games by 10 goals or more.

Division 4

  • 90 players pulled on the Bats guernsey in Division 4.
  • 50 individual goal kickers.
  • Jono Bocking greatest goals per game with 2.67, Brett Nitschke next on 1.71
  • Greatest winning margin was 115 points v Auburn in Rd 9 (a team they would lose to by 30pts in Rd 16).
  • Greatest losing margin was 81 points v Mac Uni in Rd 2 (later to lose by a point in Rd 10).
  • 3 Washouts and 2 byes made it tough to get games under the belt, with Will Field’s 12 games being the most of any Div 4 player.
  • Only 2 games decided by less than 4 goals (won 1/lost 1)
